Scott Shaffer- TOB CEO
Born and bred in Richfield, MN and the winner of "The Draft" tournament in 2015 and the Boilermaker at Purdue University.  For years Shaffer did what any boy does - play soccer, baseball, tennis, worked at Hardee's, got a girlfriend, and led a normal life. However, it wasn't until St. Cloud State University that he found his true calling. It wasn't aviation or marketing, no no no.. It was BEER! Delicious Lovely BEER! He shared this new love with his friends, family and anyone he encountered. He's brought joy to thousands with his drunken tales, bar tricks, getting Shaffer'd, puking in random places and many other "little" fun stories! Shaffer loves BEER. He loved it from his third swallow. He loves it cold, warm, in a bottle, can, mug, pitcher, at a bar, on a boat, on the beach, or even in the air. The man has done it all and at the center of every joy and every smile, there is a nice belly full of BEER. I think BEER will continue to follow Shaffer throughout his life and add enjoyment and memories that will equal the tales of Zeus, Apollo and all the other God's of their times. Cheers to Shaffer- A true TOB Hall Of Famer!!
Steve Hoecherl - Founder and CEO
Born and raised in Richfield, MN Steve has slowly evolved into the beer connoisseur that he is today. As the winner of the "Border Battle Tournament", his undergraduate in Alcoholism Studies didn’t begin until his 20’s. He started his major by drinking Tom Collins and other umbrella touched fruity drinks. Beer was not a natural taste for Steve – neither was country music, jeans or even girls. That would all change though. Steve put on his big boy underpants and started drinking BEER, wearing jeans, talking to girls and the more. His creativity has given him his doctorate in Alcoholism Studies as well as a CEO and founder of the Tournament of Beers. He will drink and enjoy the crappiest of beers as well as the jewel crowns of beers. His love of beer has been a distinguished journey of stories, good times and pure happiness. His name will truly remain a pillar and lifelong legend in the TOB Hall of Fame.
Hall of Fame inductees must attend a minimum of 8 beer tournaments, must win a tournament bracket, host a Tournament of Beers tournament, sing the Tournament of Beers song by memory and get a unanimous recommendation by current TOB Hall of Fame members.

For the first time in tournament beer history we induct a member not native to Minnesota. We found this redneck hick deep in the backwoods of Memphis drinking Bud Light driving her truck through mud sporting camo from head to toe. It was here in the backwoods that Jessica learn to drink beer. Although her only choices were Bud Light and Bud Light and the occasional Bud Light, that did not distract her from drinking mass amounts. Later in life when she became a teenager, she started learning about other beers. This awakening took her to the great city of Nashville Tennessee where she was known in local in bars for her willingness to drink at anytime of the day. Years and years past and she realized that this small town could not hold her back from exploring the world to try new beers. It is at this time she discovered Minnesota and fellow Hall of Famer Steveo. Her dedication creativity organization and sometimes support for our drunken ass's not being able to count or read TOB results correctly- she has proven to be a vital component of our tournaments. Even while knocked up, Jessica refused to sit out and watch the TOB go buy. She hammered through and made sure the TOB rolled on to great heights. It is with great honor we elects this duel stated, camo wearing, mud covered, southern backwoods redbeck beer drinking machine into the hall of fame!

At first glance her beautiful blonde hair, slim figure and other things may distract you from the fact that this woman is a stone cold killer beer drinking machine! She began her training as she chose to attend St. Cloud State University for drinking but used academics as a sneaky cover to hide her true Identity. From here she tested herself at various party houses, basements and near by drinking establishments. She found no equal in her ability to put down beers so she was forced to flea this country and go the only place in the world where minors can drink with majors- that's right Mexico. Again she conquered and proved to the world that she was a beer drinking viper. Over the years Cassie got married, popped out a few kids, and lived the normal life but never forgot where she came from. Sometimes late at night when she's watching frozen with her kids she remembers the smell and sounds of college and her true calling- beer. Any chance she gets to buy some Mickey grenades and put in work my God she puts in work! It is with great pleasure we induct Cassie Erickson into the Hall of Fame a deserving champion!

Kelvin was born into privilege. He had the luxury of learning and following one of the best in his older brother, co-CEO/Hall of Famer, Scott Shaffer in beer. Not like most kids in his generation, this entitlement would have been taken for granted - not Kelvin. He did the opposite. While appreciating the lessons he'd learned in life, he decided to take the road less traveled and paved his own path. A path paved in beer..and a little bit of puke. While the most of us were drinking Coors light he was the first to embrace craft beer and all it had to offer from the very start. He was a major influence on the other peoples taste in beer and opened doors to a whole new way of drinking beer.  From different types of beer to various taprooms across Minnesota. Kelvin also bring a unique scientific perspective to the Tournament of Beers. It is with great pleasure we induct this craft beer drinking , taproom hopping, Little girl giggling, rubber fist...ray if sunshine into the Tournament of Beers Hall of Fame!
